I know we shouldn't focus too much on the OP, but it's been fascinating to watch rainbows_ go from being a supporter of Hillary to one of the most prolific submitters of articles critical of her campaign. I didn't even notice it until recently.

(Oh, and I guess this means we'll be seeing an upswing of articles from this particular news site, then? ;) )

Seriously, what even IS pastemagazine.com anyway, lol? I never heard of it before, but this is what their website says on the "about" page:

"Paste is a leading online arts and lifestyle brand, covering music, movies, TV, games, comedy, books, design, tech, food, drink, travel, style, comics and soccer. Led by founding editor-in-chief Josh Jackson since 2002, the site has grown to more than 5 million unique monthly visitors, thanks to readers hungry for authenticity and creativity. This highly engaged and devoted audience looks to PasteMagazine.com to discover what’s happening in pop culture."

Looks like an interesting website, but I don't get the impression that politics, news, current events, social issues, etc. are among their main focus. All righty then. (ETA: Okay, I do see a "politics" tab at the top of the screen, but it still looks like more of an entertainment than a serious issues-focused site.)

It's so weird to me to see so many third-wavers pretend that second-wavers are ~faux feminists. You can acknowledge that a certain movement has run its course without de-legitimizing it (and vice-versa with the way second wavers talk about third wavers). Feminism isn't the only movement I see this in either.

is amazing how as soon as a news site refuses to play the game of glass equivalency they are deemed illegitimate. I guess we should get all our news from the two Stanford students who published their "report" on how the election was stolen from Bernie. I guess this is because VOX and others called out AP for their misleading report which they admitted to.

Also to assume that every women voting for Clinton is voting with her vagine is so fucking ridiculous. I am voting for her because she is the best option amongst the candidates running. Liza Featherstone can go ahead an vote for the anti WIFI idiot Stein.

Also Vox was not the only news outlet calling out AP.

OT but to re-use your wording, it's amazing how much that flashing gif avatar of yours gives me a headache.

EDIT: Also, did you just delete your reply to me above? Isn't that against the rules?

Helpful hint: AdBlock works great for hiding twitchy, flashy, obnoxious icons. I've used it a lot for that, because I find some of them so distracting myself.

Adblock doesn't seem to exist on smartphones unless I'm missing something. :(

The Goldman Sachs thing is messed up. When I buy an advertorial to promote my business, the sites I work with have the FTC-mandated "This is a sponsored post" right at the top.

That AP article was in fact a hot mess, though. My journalism 101 prof would have sent it back with a sternly worded comment about doing propaganda instead of reporting, because it takes willful intent to talk that much about Yunus without mentioning their microfinance history, and claiming "met with" is a set that doesn't include the vast majority of her meetings is just ...

I really want to know the truth about what the Clinton Foundation does, but I doubt any of the recent articles about it, positive or negative, are particularly accurate.
