I actually rather enjoyed it when I played Elite Dangerous, and with the surface exploration aspect of it as well, it might be really interesting.

On the other hand, I have horrible attention span problems with regards to most sandbox games. I have a really hard time getting into them or I get into them for a bit and then realize it's too aimless for me and just stop playing them.
