And if this was a male candidate he was racing against, his ass would be investigated from dusk till dawn for inciting violence but because Hillary is a woman...
If you think that the Sectret Service isn't going to take this seriously because Hillary's a woman, I must respectfully disagree. Those guys (and gals--I assume there must be some women in the Secret Service) take their job seriously, and I've never seen any indications that the gender of someone they're charged with protecting makes any difference to how diligently they do that job. If you're heard rumors to the contrary, please share (along with your source, if possible), so we can all be fully informed.
As halfshellvenus pointed out, I'm talking about investigation, not protection. If this had been Bill and not Hillary, you would be seeing a trove of people demanding and whatever force may be stating they were looking into the 'threats' against him. Being it's Hillary? Nope, everything this infected makeup stained pillow says is 'free speech' and 'he didn't mean it'. It's a full on boys will be boys rhetoric and if Hillary says anything to the contrary she'll get hit with a 'put on your big girl panties' from the delirious bedbugs that call themselves his supporters.
I don't understand why you're automatically assuming this won't be investigated. I brought up the Secret Service because it's my understanding that they would be the ones responsible for investigating a threat on a presidential candidate. They're not just glorified body guards. They're highly trained professionals who take their job very seriously, and I see absolutely no reason to assume that they would treat this any differently than a threat to any other candidate.
Of course, any investigation that takes place would no doubt be behind the scenes, and we wouldn't hear about it anyway.
1. We have no idea how thoroughly she may have been investigated. I'm pretty sure that sort of thing would happen "behind the scenes" and would not be made public.
2. Imo, that comment was actually blown considerably out of proportion. I was supportting Obama at the time, and I didn't like it one bit. But a as I recall, it wasn't a threat ON him so much as an admittedly clumsy way of pointing out that it's not over till it's over when people were pressuring Clinton to drop of the race.
3. Obama apparently either didn't think it was that big of a deal or else he got over it pretty fast, since he turned right around and asked her to be his Secretary of State a few months later and is now supporting her very strongly. He obviously put it behind him a long, long time ago, and something tells me he wouldn't want anyone else to hold it against her, either.

See my reply to anguisel, below. I mentioned the Secret Service because I assumed it's they who would investigate any threat to a candidate's safety.
