Presidential elections aren’t just about principles; they’re about human lives.

And those human lives are why I'm voting third party and not for someone who never saw a foreign intervention she didn't like.

You don't believe your third party vote might affect human lives badly?

Do you believe my third party vote will be enough to sway the Electoral College to give an absolute majority of votes to someone who will, or to not reach an absolute majority at all? Because I don't.

Depends on what state you vote in. I voted in Florida in three presidential elections and like to think Dems there learned their lesson after the 2000 election debacle.

More Florida Dems voted voted for Bush in 2000 than for Nader ("Nader only drew 24,000 Democrats to his cause, yet 308,000 Democrats voted for Bush") or any other third party candidate, and a significant number of them didn't vote at all.Gore ran a poor campaign in 2000, anyway. He alienated more liberal voters by choosing Joe Lieberman as running mate, performed poorly in the debates, and made the terrible strategic choice of distancing himself from the very popular Clinton administration ( ... )

I've heard that who would have won depended on the recount method, but it's been a while since I've looked at the Florida results outside of the impact of third party candidates, so I may be misremembering.

Honest question - I see so many people saying that Clinton is "too hawkish" but do you really think that Trump won't be worse?

And, let's be real, there is literally no chance of a 3rd party candidate winning because of the way the electoral college works. Are you really comfortable voting 3rd party because you don't like Clinton's foreign policy and risking that we'll end up with Trump having the nuclear codes?

This election is Clinton's to lose. If the Clinton campaign and the DNC are so weak and ineffectual that the small percentage of third party voters is enough to cost them the Electoral majority against an opponent like Trump, that's on them and the campaign they've chosen to run, not on the third party.
