I still find it fascinatingly horrifying that the people and Trump sit there and scream that immigrants need to be deported yet allow one to speak at their convention. And yes I know she has citizenship but so do the Muslims they are screaming about deporting who were BORN here. It's just...

Yeah, I'm puzzled too. But Trump supporters don't seem overly concerned about internal consistency.

She's white so she doesn't count. It's those dirty brown immigrants they have problems with.

I feel like her speech writer was trolling during that part; no lie.

If she had lifted from any other speech it wouldn't be as bad, but to use a convention speech from the current first lady is boggling.

Yeah, this. Some of the defenders are making the mostly valid point that, sadly, she is far from the first campaigner to do this. But historically it has at least been from people the individuals claim to share values with and so on. The fact it is directly related to the current administration they are so harshly criticizing and also a similar context is what makes this one extra ironic.

It's also ironic that after (or maybe before, I don't know what the order of the speeches were) King said that while people created civilizations a white woman stole a black woman's speech.

Top RNC strategist uses My Little Pony to defend Melania Trump

Sean Spicer, the Republican National Committee’s chief strategist, cited the popular animated series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic as proof that would-be first lady Melania Trump’s primetime speech before the Republican National Convention last night did not feature paragraphs plagiarized from first lady Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech before the Democratic National Convention.
