she's been told for years to quit it by native american activists and she clearly enjoys it so i think she'll keep pushing it as long and as hard as she can which is very inappropriate. unfortunately tho, it's a very american thing to pipe up and claim that you have ~native blood in you~ and it's not just from white people wanting to be special, either. it's a very, very ugly thing that people enjoy boasting about while, yanno, ignoring actual living, breathing native americans. it turned me off of her a long time ago, and to see it raised like this is just. yikes.

I was actually thinking about posting an op-ed (by a Native American) about it but i'm not sure if I should. I just had a conversation with my mom about it because her co-worker's that are Native American (professors who work w/Anthropology and Genealogy) are pissed off with Warren right now. There's been a lot of unhappy people on twitter too. I doubt many care about the Native American vote politically but this has been a big blow in support.
