I don't really think anyone believes Trump is "the sole issue with US politics" at all. Okay, maybe somebody, somewhere, believes that, but not most voters, and certainly not most of the folks here. Once the two major parties have each made their choice, though, the differences between those two choices will be the focus of the campaign, because that's that's what people will base their votes on. Each side will be going, "You should vote for me instead of that other person, and here's why." It's just how these things tend to work.

I realize this is pushing into syntax policing, but let's next time say something like 'the rabid portion of Hillary's fanbase' to reinforce that it's not the entirety of her fanbase (thus including comm members).
