Officials have closed Paris's Louvre museum so its priceless artworks can be moved to safety amid the threat of flooding from the nearby River Seine.

Setting aside the fact that the comm is also meant for news, climate change is a political issue these days, because politicians are pretty hellbent on making sure nothing gets done in regards to it unless it's screaming that it's not real.

Okay, but these floods aren't really caused by climate change, Paris usually expects a flood every hundred years. I don't think fossil fuels contributed to this.

-points up at people living in flood-prone areas talking about how 'once in a century' floods are happening a hell of a lot more frequently than that-

On top of that, my Mom is Dutch. This? This is not normal. Well, I suppose it's the new normal, but then again, the Dutch have never had the luxury of ignoring anything that causes sea-levels to rise.

You do realize this flood in Paris has absolutely nothing to do with sea levels rising right? Paris is at a much higher elevation than cities like New York or London. It would take all the ice in the world to melt before Paris gets affected by rising sea levels. This flood is because of increased rain.
