Hillary Clinton’s AIPAC Speech Was a Symphony of Craven, Delusional Pandering

Clinton had an opportunity to show some political courage. She decided to alienate the left instead.Any presidential candidate speaking to AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, during an election year is going to bow to the hawkish elements of the Israel ( Read more... )

Why is Israel so important to America? Is there any other country that is so up another country's ass?

Israel should hardly warrant a mention in our elections but the way our politicians talk you'd think Israel was a synonym for USA. We can barely mention Guam, or Puerto Rico, or American Samoa, or fund their anything! But we can send American tax dollars to Israel so it can commit genocide faster.

This this this

I never understood why Israel was so special. All it sounded like to me is a bunch of people bullied another group or people out of the homes they've lived in for generations because God said so.

Don't we only still "own" Guam and American Samoa for the sake of military bases? I don't know much about AS but Guam is being steadily taken over by the US military at the expense of their sacred historical sites all so we can have a big fleet at the ready to fuck China's shit up.

because we, along with the other WWII Allies, can't admit that we made a mistake by giving land we had no right to give.

This comment is the fucking truth and the light.

Anytime I try to mention that to people in my life, they immediately go into, "well in the Bible that land was promised to Jewish people!!!!!" and it's like, seriously? Let me write a book that will hopefully turn into a followed religion that states my lineage was promised Disney World.

Mostly strategic location. Do we have any other extraordinarily devoted allies in that region of the world? Does that *seem* like a region of the world it'd be important and desirable to have an undying ally? Sure. If we had to go into WWIII over that oil, *we* would've wanted to move in, in an exponentially more major way, militarily, fuck the Palestines AND Israelis.

Because we basically created Israel (along with our allies) after WW2; Palestinians had been inhabiting the land for centuries until Jews faced genocide (the irony), and then we went over there and told Palenstians to fuck off so hat we could give their land back to Jewish people after like 136564631335415 years. A lot of the territory fighting is re: religious landmarks and sacred holy places that are important to both groups. Anyways, when we helped steal their land and establish them as Israel, we apparently also made a blood oath to defend them no matter what.
