the way canada treats the first nations is shameful. it's why i always laugh when someone says it's such a "nice country". hopefully trudeau does something unlike harper, but i'm cynical (he's liberal after all)

this post should have more comments :/

i'm with NDP too, i was so hopeful that mulcair would succeed but i guess i was wrong. i keep thinking about what would have happened if layton hadn't passed.

The big problem is that for some reason the NDP decided to court the centrist vote instead of realizing that it was a cultural swing left on top of the cult of Jack last election. The moment Mulcair promised to balance the budget & Trudeau went for deficit spending, the election was over :(

Yeah, I REALLY wish Mulcair would step down. His move to the center in the last election was ridiculous.

Tom Mulcair is like your crazy angry drunk uncle who's usually right but kind of an asshole? I think if he'd gone full bulldog question period Angry Grandpa Mulcair instead of weird offputting grit and bear the smile friendly Mulcair and swung hard left they would have done a lot better.

Whatever, I'm still pressed by how dirty the NDP did Peggy Nash in 2012. Not that she had any real chance but at least try to give a shit.

Yeah, that's very true.

I mean, I remember the discussion of the water crisis on many reserves during the administration of PAUL MARTIN. Yet it's still an issue, because indigenous people just don't count: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/bad-water-third-world-conditions-on-first-nations-in-canada-1.3269500
