Gloucester isn't exactly progressive central. In fact it's not even standard moderate territory. If they win this fight.... I'm more worried that there will be more repercussions for the family and teenager.
Also Virginia is largely controlled by Republicans who have control of the Senate and the House of Delegates.
If this is concerning it's all the more reason for people to get out and vote and be politically active.
When you hate trans people so much you literally legalize sexual assault to maintain the myth of a clearly defined "biological sex" revolving around cis people.
