Who else is feeling like US politics is an illusion designed to make the voters think they have a choice when in fact, all the choices have already been made.

I'll be the bitter one and say I've thought that for fifteen years now. I remember the first Bush election. My dad had liked Bush Sr. and thought Jr. would do a good job. I remember telling him (mind I was 15, and while Dad was actually very good at respecting my opinions and engaging in open debate vs. "What do you know, you're just a kid", he still came to his own conclusions, which I suppose is fair enough) that Bush would be a DISASTER, we were likely to end up in war, and that he was likely to only win via electoral college. Which I believe was true in both elections, although my memory of the first is admittedly fuzzy ( ... )
