Five Big Takeaways from the GOP Debate
By Benjy Sarlin

The five:

+ Jeb made the most of it - Despite his low poll numbers, he went for the jugular in debating Trump. Choice quote: "Donald, you’re not going to be able to insult your way to the presidency."

+ Rubio forced Cruz to the right - They debated over path to citizenship for immigrants who are already in the country illegally. Cruz stated, "I have never supported legalization, and I do not intend to support legalization."

+ Cruz defused Trump - Possible Republican ticket forming? Trump and Cruz seemed to find common ground and mutual respect for one another. Trump said of Cruz, "Let me just say that I have gotten to know him over the last three or four days. He has a wonderful temperament."

+ To dictator or not to dictator - Cruz, Trump, and Paul vs Rubio on whether or not invasion to rid countries of dictators is the right choice to make.

+ Chris Christie’s new pitch - Claims he's fought terrorists and won by being a federal prosecutor. He also said he planned to work with King Hussein of Jordan, who's been dead for almost 17 years.

And Carson was asleep the whole time, so none for him.

So, aside from the obvious, what did you guys think about the debate last night? If you HAD to vote for one of the Republicans, who would you vote for? Be honest!

Still bummed Trump and Bush's feud didn't come to this:

Also, I'm trying to figure out how to add tags so we can get an election 2016 tag in here, as well as get the other candidates their own tags

BONUS! Infographic showing how many verbal attacks were by and for each candidate:
