Of course the easiest way to make people self-sufficient is to eradicate the social safety net created by Democrats! Because if you just stop giving people money, they stop being poor! It's so simple!

Fun statistics: Before LBJ's Great Society, 25% of Americans lived in poverty. After LBJ's Great Society, that number was reduced to roughly 12%. And of that 12%, only 3% live their whole lives in poverty. The other 9% actually became a revolving door of people who had simply hit personal hard times and social programs allowed them to climb back out of the hole of debt through food subsides and job training.

Taking money away does not make people more self sufficient. People would be perfectly self sufficient if minimum wage were a living wage. But then we'd have impoverished corporations instead. And who wants that?

The republicans in my state are merciless assholes who think with the head between their legs. Fucking 'alternative to abortion' programs (forced birth), 'healthy marriage' (we hate fags) and 'responsible fatherhood' (who the fuck knows, probably visitation rights for rapists).

Jayzus, i loathe these fuck heads.
