HWOEVER if I din't add the disclaimer than it would immediately be seen as blaming / supporting the mob / being THE ENEMY which is incredibly false. I don't want ANY part of the above mess but without a 'but' I feel like I can't comment at all. It's hard enough for me to get my thoughts in order and explain them well as it is.
eta: and just to clarify, again, no, Zoe Quinn or Anita Sarkeesian or ANYONE should never feel threatened or harassed under any circumstances. Ever. My comment was on the fact that someone sharing their case of emotional abuse and toxic relationship with a somewhat-well-known member of an industry (which wasn't written wll, admittedly) was very quickly turned into the abuser himself because:
A) Assholes on the Internet got involved and acted like assholes on the Internet
B) Abuse is okay - or at least downplayed - when it's female on male
Which is me stating that I hate how media in general jumps on the simplest explanation with the quickest way to summarize to make sure they get the page hits before the situation is even cosidered and secondly that we still have a ways to go when a victim - of ANY GENDER - is further ostracized for sharing their story because the victim doesn't fit into the normal pattern.
