Good - wish that was precedent in the US too. Just the fact this even had to go to court, rather than the guy just agreeing to delete the pics out of decency, shows the need for it IMHO.

It's a good thing indeed, but one should note (and the article makes it sound a bit misleading) that German law doesn't operate by "precedent" as much as countries like the UK and US (something to do with the difference between common and civil law). Having a previous court decision to support one can definitely be helpful, but if the facts in another case are somewhat different, another court may well come to the opposite conclusion in another case, if there is a way to interpret existing laws differently ( ... )

It would also be helpful if employers didn't sack or refuse to hire women whose exes have performed this kind of "revenge". What with the existence of Photoshop, a woman doesn't even have to have taken intimate photos for them to suddenly exist and appear on the web. And if she has, then she should NOT be made to feel ashamed that she did. The shame lies entirely with the douchebag who uploaded them. What's that, you say? Somebody TRUSTED their partner with private things? How dare they!

Just, so sick of this shit falling on our shoulders all the time.
