am i horrible for thinking - not going so far as to actively hope, but just think - that maybe this particular bit of stupidity will be self-correcting before too much longer?

or that maybe, like that story yesterday, one of the legislators will be personally affected by the results of this law and suddenly backpedal their stance?

i just...jesus christ. what is this.

I'm picturing a lot of mayhem coming out of this, and I just wish my family in GA weren't so in love with that crap-ass excuse for a state.

It eliminates criminal charges for those who accidentally bring their guns to the airport or other secured buildings where guns are prohibited.

Libraries are now security checkpoints? what is even going on with this sentence.

I'm going to focus on the library being the security checkpoint so I can ignore the rest of the fuckery.

It's saying the law is going to allow guns in government buildings without security checkpoints, such as libraries. As opposed to government buildings with security checkpoints, such as courts.

Okay, that makes much more sense.

I honestly can't think of any government building up where I live other than the courthouse that HAS a checkpoint, thus my confusion.

Guns and alcohol-impaired judgement, what could possibly go wrong?

For real; people do enough damage with just fists when they're shitfaced, but give them guns? Hale no.
