I'm a bit disappointed he didn't live to see same-sex marriage in all fifty states, but oh well.

There's always some well-meaning comments about how you shouldn't wish death on horrible people, or rejoice in their passing.

With that in mind, I'd like to comment on Fred Phelps' death:

Ha ha ha! So long and good riddance. No one of import will miss you, and I hope the obscurity you fall into after your death is in direct proportion to your infamy while alive.
I'd come picket your funeral, but you're not worth the effort, time, and money.
No love, me.

I have now shown to Phelps the same amount of sympathy, decency, and respect he and his cronies have shown to all the people whose legacy they've tried to tarnish by picketing their funerals, and their grieving families.
~I'm sure it's what he would have wanted.~ <3

Tbh I find rejoicing when people like this die to be kind of pointless. Not so much because of some ridiculous idealistic high road, but because fuckers like Fred Phelps aren't worth the energy expended on hating them that can be used for more productive ventures. They deserve to be forgotten, to be erased from human history and consciousness as if they never existed.

BYE ASSHOLE. If I believed in a hell, I'd wish for him to burn in it.
