Writing about it. I had done a lot of research years ago about space travel and NASA. Projected space exploration plans.
I was reviewing my old characters, who are part of an international effort to go deeper into the solar system, Mars and beyond. Manned space travel. Space stations. A lot of speculative stuff, too, and political science, how humanity has to change to evolve, putting every prejudice under fire. I had decided that the commander of the USA team will be an African American woman. I was thinking about researching the more up to date space programs so I was really happy to see Mae C. Jemison posted.
Literally said, "Daaaamn" out loud when I saw Mae C. Jemison's photo. I believe I have a thing for short-haired women. ._. (Plus it's a great-looking photo.)
Very, very cool list! (Also, Madam C.J. Walker closely resembles a friend of mine. I'm tempted to say to her, "If I said you looked like a millionaire, would you hold it against me?)

And getting back into space? As in getting interested in it, or going to work with NASA?

Also, I nominate Vivien Thomas. He was amazing and not nearly enough people know about him.
