And Republicans want to punish women for their libidos by forcing them to bear children. Because men can libido all over the place but they don't have to pay the price women do. Contraception liberates women from the liability of their gender. Abortion frees women from a life-long commitment that they may not be prepared (for any number of reasons) to pay. And it saves them from dying when they can't get it safely and legally.
