Windsor’s penis bush vandal makes national headlines
City of Windsor parks director John Miceli is making national headlines for attempting to convince Windsor’s infamous ‘bushwhacker’ to put his artistic talents to better use.
In a colorful Q and A with Sarah Boesveld of The National Post - she refers to Windsor’s mystery clipper as a ‘penis-pruning bandit’ - Miceli likens the riverfront vandal to a smart child with bad behaviour.
“We have a very talented individual who’s not using their talent to the betterment of the community,” Miceli tells Boesveld. “Give me a call, come see me and we’ll see if we can use your skill set.”
A cocky vandal aroused the attention of city officials in October when he or she trimmed a bush to resemble a penis in Windsor’s sculpture garden. The vandal struck again later in October and city officials moved quickly to reshape the vandalized bush.
The penis bush saga has made international headlines and been featured on Dave and Chuck The Freak and on late night shows including the Jimmy Kimmel show.
Last week, the vandal struck again, spending a considerable amount of time spelling out the word Penis in garland.
The city responded by removing all greenery from the garden.
