Glad the ruling went this way--I didn't hear about this because all the news around me is about the Enbridge ruling. Getting rid of laws that aren't enforced and are flawed in the first place is a good thing.

I'm suspicious of how many people are sure decriminalizing sex work = organized crime. We already have the organizing crime so what would change with that? And this POV is coming from a lot of evangelical groups which smells like caring theatre. Are the groups against this also working on ending poverty, underfunded mental health help, and the "crime" of addiction?

at least in Canada, I keep finding Christianity behind the human trafficking = prostitution idea like Alliance for Action. I noticed a new doc on the topic is showing at a lot of churches but the website of the couple of made it doesn't mention religion. It does mention learning about "modern day slavery" at a "leadership conference" (what is that?) from International Justice Mission which sounds great but is "faith-cased" and "grew out of a group of Christian lawyers who desired to provide legal assistance to impoverished victims of violent abuse."

Are these just good Christians trying to be Christ-like? If so, why do they push the Nordic/Swedish model rather than the New Zealand model?
