This, for a "luxury" product to boot. (not that making it a food crop would be better at all. Not in the least).

There's something fundamentally screwed up when people lobby for laws allowing for children to work 60 hour weeks in fields.

Yup. A couple weeks ago I read a few articles on cocoa bean harvesting around the world and I don't think I'll ever be able to look at processed chocolate the same way.

I agree, and that attitude is getting largely exported to the "regular economy" and culture too. "Someone else will take your place tomorrow." If you get fired because you got sick or injured, oh well, I'll have 300 resumes on my desk tomorrow. It is a systemic problem all the way to the top.
