Obama said. “Today’s pattern of obstruction just isn’t normal. We can’t allow it to become normal."

Boom.

And since they're already been screaming "TYRANT!!!" for ages now, I hope the Dems have just stolen the wind from their Cry Wolf sails. And PLEASE OBAMA LOAD IT UP WITH LIBERALS!

Someone republican talking head opined this morning that this squelches any grand bargain on the budget. And additionally, he said the Dems will be sooo sorry because this makes it more likely that there will be another government shut down.

Bwhahaha! Grand Bargain - you guys wouldn't approve a Blue Light Special, let along a Grand Bargain.

As for another shut down? So how'd that work out for you last time, sucka?

FUCKING FINALLY!

Especially since this change (as Rachel pointed out last night) could lead to all the other vacancies (at last count there are 93 nationally). So way to be, Mitch McConnell. We couldn't have done it without you.

It'll be interesting to see if this comes back around to bite the Dems in two or four years.

Which it will

But they were screwed if they didn't. Apparently something like 86 of Obama's nominees have been filibustered, even if the Republicans filibustering them actually liked,/i> the candidates. So it was either change the rules or there were going to be a lot of vacancies.

I agree that it was necessary. It's just sad that it was.
