It's weird, but my first reaction was to be happy that the store lady didn't even bother to ask him what he needed to know it for. That he didn't have to explain himself. I'd imagine that that store probably has a very welcoming atmosphere for trans women.

Most stores just want to make the sale, tbh. Big cities are usually very easy. In my experience, presenting female or male and buying women's clothes - exactly ONE person ever gave me any grief and it was pretty weak. I was a dude and I was all like "yeah, this dress is for me. Problem?"

It was also in Silverlake, Los Angeles. Curiously.

I was happy on two levels - the level you are, and also the level that this douchey dude didn't get the chance to launch into his oh-so-important story about how he was *writing* an *article*.
