If doctors oppose certain things according to their religion they need be forthcoming with that at the start.

The Catholic hospital where I did my internship (I did gene coding at their lab) clearly states on their website they value life and uphold it. They don't outright say it, but between the lines that means if you want an abortion or euthanasia, you need to go somewhere else. You can get it if you want to, since both are legal in my country, but it's easier if you just go to another hospital.
All fine and dandy, until you are brought in by ambulance and didn't have a say in the matter.

Yup. If part of your job goes against your religion, you need to choose a different field at the outset.

I am very much not surprised at all by this. And in the end, doctrine, not any supportive-sounding words, is what determines which effect the Catholic church has on the lives of its members, or even non-Catholics living in areas where the Catholic church has great influence.

One step forward, two steps back...

"Every child that isn't born, but is unjustly condemned to be aborted"

Now, I'm far from religious. Doesn't God have a plan for everything? Wouldn't abortion be part of his plan, if that's the case?

Most Christian denominations believe in free will and in the idea that humans have the ability to choose sin.

Yeah, that's what I thought. There needs to be choices, so you can make the right choice or choose (to repent (for how long that may take) for your mistakes (or choose not to). You can't be a true human if you are kept in a padded room your entire life where nothing you do is your own choice, but that of another.

If your god condemns children who were never born (and thus never given a chance to be baptized), I feel like the problem is more with your god than with abortion.

Plus, they complain about women getting pregnant on purpose for welfare but ignore how in the times when the sons would have to wait on their inheritance, they and their fiance would purposely get pregnant so their parents would be FORCED to give them their share!

The girls I've seen, the girls I grew up with...it was more about how they saw their moms raising them with little money, including welfare and kids that just seemed to happen and they didn't see any other option but to grow up and be just like their mothers. They couldn't see the point of college when they could never afford it and never did well in regular school. They never saw the point of contraception or saying "no" when children were just inevitable to them. Their one hope was to marry well. I was told over and over again by patrons of the fast food restaurant I used to work at that I should find a man so I "wouldn't have to work."

Marry well! We've reduced a large segment of the population to 1800s society.

Yeah, everyone a couple of days ago was all YAY Pope Francis.

Not me, I knew this shit was coming. Nothing is going to change with the Catholic Church because the people in charge are old men who believe they have the right to tell women what to do with their bodies. And who grew up believing that homosexuality was bad. So they keep electing and promoting leaders who believe the same way.
