A disturbing letter targeting a teen with autism has shaken the boy's family and rallied the local community to their defense.

I don't get it either. People are just petty.

And we have MUCH better neighbors now, thank you! Better property management too. The only bad thing is that we had to move from a great school district to a less great school district, but it was worth it to not have the crap we had to deal with at the last place.

In our case, it was the neighbors complaining about petty things like our house being 'messy' (nothing beyond the normal toddler messes, really. we cleaned on a daily basis) and about our kids running inside our unit making too much noise. Petty stuff, but when it became clear that the management company was going to force us out anyway, we just moved instead of waiting to be kicked out.

On the plus side, for every horrible, ignorant person, I've been blown away by the kindness and tolerance shown by people in our lives once I started talking about what was going on with our daughter.

I am glad that at least this family received the support of the rest of the neighborhood and public support because I can only imagine how soul-crushing it must have been to read those things directed at your child.
