ALIQUIPPA, Pa. - An Aliquippa woman watched in sheer panic as she saw a man dressed in a dark trench coat, wearing a bandana, big hat and carrying what appeared to be a shotgun.
She called 911 immediately and then followed the man.
As he approached two teenagers on Main Street, she tells Channel 4 Action News he yelled at them and appeared to confront them with the gun.
"Terrified!", she said. "I've never been that scared in my life. A pump, double barrel sitting on his shoulder."
The woman does not want to be identified, but said she feared for the safety of the two teens, so she yelled at the man not to hurt them.
She told police he turned the gun toward her so she hit him with her car.
"I floored it, I went on the curb and I hit him."
Aliquippa detective Steven Roberts says what appeared to be a real shotgun turned out to be only a toy.
The man carrying the fake firearm is 21-year-old Cameron White.
Roberts says he removed the orange cap on the barrel to give the appearance of a real gun so the woman thought she had encountered a real, life-threatening situation as he pointed it at her.
As a result, Beaver County's District Attorney Anthony Berosh says the woman will not be charged.
"If it looks like a gun, you don't have to wait to see if it is a gun. He pointed it at her and she acted appropriately in my opinion," says Berosh.
The woman says she acted out of fear, "now that I know it's a fake gun, do I feel bad? Yes. But you don't know. You just don't know anymore. "
White suffered minor injuries and sits in the Beaver County jail
Source I think this guy is an asshole of epic proportions and got what he deserved. Good on that woman for reacting the way she did.
