After being briefly classified as a security threat, Manor New Tech High School student Francisco Martinez will have a chance after all to meet President Obama during the president’s visit Thursday.
Martinez is part of a team of students who won the chance to give a presentation in front of the president.
YNN learned through a social media push that Martinez is an undocumented immigrant and it’s because of this fact that a friend told us Martinez was cut from the program.
Fellow students rallied behind their classmate, creating a Facebook page and a petition urging the White House to reconsider Martinez’s status.
At first, Martinez sounded eager to make his case with media, but his enthusiasm waned as the day moved forward.
Wednesday evening, Martinez’s sister confirmed the Manor New Tech High School student would-in fact-be able to make his presentation to the President.
Both Martinez and the Manor Independent School District are expected to comment on this story after the president’s visit.
YNN reached out to the White House multiple times Wednesday and has yet to receive a response.

At first, we were really sad that he wouldn't get to meet the Prez, but thankfully that changed. Also, how come we don't have an 'education' tag? Or am I blind?
