Okay, I totally agree that if she DID get him fired she is a nasty awful person, HOWEVER:
If my brother-in-law was beating my sister and nephew, I would use absolutely everything at my disposal to make sure the brother-in-law experiences hell on earth for as long as I am in the position to make it so.
However, I seriously doubt I would extend the tide of retribution to his boss (unless I was completely blinded by rage)... but still, I am wondering how this will play in the media. They could turn her into like... a badass white knight over this, if they manipulate the info accordingly.
I don't know what Monegan could have done within the kinds of rules that usually exist in these situations. The review was complete, and for Monegan to step in would probably be very much against the rules. Notice Monegan doesn't ever discuss the review; to do so would probably violate Wooten's rights. Monegan was in a no-win situation, because he couldn't even point out things in Wooten's favor.
Some of those charges were "he said, she said" and unprovable, the taser incident involved the kid asking to be zapped on the lowest, "demo" setting, and Wooten's wife, who was with him, had the license to kill the moose.
My impression is that Wooten is as stupid as they come and probably was a bad husband. But once the review found he was able to do his job and not a threat, I don't see what action Monegan could have taken against him ethically. Other than not letting him walk around a fair in a fur suit.
Sorry, this whole business is getting on my nerves because at least one person I know is buying into the "we need to know more about Obama's associates" smoke and mirrors trick.
Someone directed me to the Palin icons a while back and I only just snagged a couple.
I don't think I can take another mention of moose, in any context, at all. That word has been said more times in the past month than in all of our lives previously. I'm tired of thinking about moose! I want to take a stuffed moose outside and beat the crap out of it in the street. The next lifetime I spend being this concerned about moose will be spent as an Eskimo.
She threw out a bunch of excuses to cover it up that were were than the crime themselves.(He lobbied for money to investigate sex crimes, he wouldn't let the governor use the state-trooper's air plane, etc)
