Whenever white people fixate on being mistreated by PoC, I always have to wonder if deep down, they realize that they would probably deserve it, or if they're just assuming that since they oppress anyone who doesn't look like them that everyone's just chomping at the bit for the opportunity to stick it to Whitey.

Probably a little of both. I bet a lot of straight white men are terrified that minorities might start treating them how they treat minorities.

Probably a fear of being treated as they treat others. At an Idle No More rally a few weeks ago, the speaker said something about those in power being frightened that the indigenous people would "go on a warpath." The First Nations people around me laughed but I just felt like nodding.

Whether it's MLK or Caesar Chavez or anyone suggesting a change is needed, there's definitely a fear/anger vibe. I think the assumption isn't equality but role reversal. "What if they make me shop at a mini-mart, live in a high-crime apt building, and send my kids to a shitty school?"
