I've seen those "facts" before and they're absurd to anyone who's ever left their walled estate or small town. I can't believe it still exists post-internet! It appears there is no acceptable source that can convince these people that a nasty list of wish fulfillment--disease! early death! misery! murder!--is not fact.

According to a 30-second Google search, that article cites stats and studies (like Newsweek articles) only up to 1994. It's suspiciously primitive for 1994 IMO--I wouldn't be surprised if it were written in the 1980s and "updated" afterward...hence, the 30-year-old studies. I guess Agema would argue that The Truth is timeless regardless of what actual studies have shown since.

Okay, I'm just ranting but I've shouted that Lesbian Avenger chant at more than one Dyke March and the recruitment part IS A JOKE. It's a defensive move by people angry about being attack by nonsense like this. Gah. Too stupid.

"This isn't about what we believe, either politically or as women and men of faith," the statement said. "This is about common decency and realizing that you cannot win an election by insulting a wide swath of the electorate, whose votes our Republican Party needs to once again form a national majority."

You know, thats pretty shitty to say as well. Its like "common decency... VOTES! MAJORITY!" We want him out because he threatens our elections? You had it covered at the decency part then let your true selves slip through.

well, when the big movers and shakers of a party machine can't or won't acknowledge the distinction between two uses of the word "compromised" (e.g. Boehner refusing to even use the word) it's got to be either ignorance (not even knowing there's a difference between "we came to a compromise" and "the patient's lungs were compromised") or cynicism (counting on most of their audience being of that 'low-information' variety) or both.

when they let the opportunism (i.e. the overwhelmingly main reason Republicans are ~suddenly~ increasingly supporting marriage equality) slip through... it's both.

...omg, is that a Bruce Lee (game) icon?

Yeah, I have been thinkin this also. They are not worried about the homophobia or discrimination: just being preceived as retrograde and alienateing voters. Very Mi-GOP

I really hope people like this continue to undermine GOP efforts to venture beyond their old, scared, white base. It warms the cockles of my commie pinko heart.

Oh good. All we need is for some Republican to see this study and call for stringent Homosexual controls, for the hypocritical circle to be complete.
