They say distributions are done on public sidewalks, not on campus

So yeah, college officials don't like sexual health stuff and are looking for any kind of reasons to shut them down?

Also, this is about sexual health, right? What about this? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/the-pope/8148944/The-Pope-drops-Catholic-ban-on-condoms-in-historic-shift.html

i know, but it's something that could be vague enough to let some Catholic school permit condoms being given out (especially off college) if they wanted to argue that way. I dunno... i just feel like they are really trying hard to be regressive.

Not wanting to deal with things like this was one of the reasons I crossed BC (and a whole bunch of other well ranking schools) off my list of college choices. I went to BU instead and now I'm going to grad school at a place that doesn't even have a church on campus.

But doing this at a college is silly and will probably cause more problems than it hopes to quell moral outrage or something.

Yeah, I feel like the administration picked the wrong time to make a fuss about this - especially since the sites have apparently been operating for years. Considering all the backlash the Republicans recently got for all the reproductive bills they were trying to push through, idk what BC thinks they'll accomplish.

This is the kind of shit that makes me very, very, very, very glad I went to a totally secular, state-supported university.

Nobody was giving out condoms on the street corners of my campus (this was pre-AIDS, so there was less of an emphasis on that kind of protection, and more on birth control pills, which you could btw get for free at the student health service, with the prescription from your also free gynecologist visit), but if someone had, no one would have given a shit. Which is as it should be, afaic.

WTF, so happy I didn't get accepted there for social work grad school. Seriously makes me wonder what kind of bullshit messages their SW program is sending if the school is like this?
