Uh... that's not what a misfire is. A misfire is when the bullet fails to fire when it's supposed to. This was a negligent discharge, i.e. someone fucked up.
But of course they're all so *responsible* and this would *never* happen randomly in a classroom or when a panicking teacher lunges for a gun in her purse/his drawer and tries to shoot a murderer who is doing their best Al Capone.....

Either way, someone still fucked up. Loaded weapons are always pointed in a safe direction, and clearly that one wasn't.
