Who can blame them, though, you would think the amount of money they make off of a sale would cover the cost of test drives? Idk, I guess things are still tight for the auto industry, especially at the dealership level.
But aren't there people who think it's *fun* to spend a weekend test driving cars, with no intention of buying them whatsoever. I no several people like that, and I know that I have friends who also know several people like that.
Getting really sick of businesses wanting to push so many of their business costs on to the customers. Credit card upcharges, inflated shipping and handling fees to offset any sales on the actual products, the list goes on. Just charge an honest price if the costs are really that much, damn.
TBH, I wouldn't pay for a test drive, and no test drive = no sale. I wouldn't be surprised if this hurts their bottom line at the end of the day.
If I pay for a test drive at a dealership I am not going to test drive there. I want to compare several cars in a class from the company (Honda bbs), and the money I should be worrying about is the HUGE CHECK I'll hand them later when I settle on a car.
