I took a class on Cuba and the Caribbean in college, which of course covered the Haitian Revolution and Louverture. A couple years ago, I saw a show on PBS about the revolution, narrated by Morgan Freeman. I heard that he wants to produce a feature about Louverture, but studios don't think it will appeal to audiences. Bullshit.

I didn't know of him but I do like the story of Haiti's revolution. Why can't we have a movie about this guy, as beuk mentioned, rather than another remake?
