From what I can tell, they referred to him as "she" during the times he still identified that way. I'm just saying that the rest of the article seems to get the pronouns right.

But I guess it's not interesting unless we talk about his hormone and surgery decisions, and don't forget to validate his gender identity by pointing out he never liked girl things anyway (don't worry, cis people, gender is still as black and white as you always thought!)

I think that's why I am so stiff with this. It feels really sensationalistic. And you're right, referring to a trans* person before they transition is still misgendering them by using the wrong gender and pronouns. I'm trans* too so I understand..

Shit, I'm really sorry! I didn't know that it was offensive to refer to a trans* person pre-transition with their pre-transition pronoun but I'll make sure to remember. Sorry again.

I apologize. I didn't know "she" was offensive when referring to Cory's pre-transition life but I'll remember in the future. Sorry for causing offense.
