Seriously. I don't even speak Spanish, just French, but there are enough cognates that even I can tell how WILDLY different the signs are in the different languages.

Right?? I speak fairly decent Spanish (and I read better than I speak) but anyone who is familiar with basically any Romance language could tell that those signs are not even close to the same.
