Thanks. So far Hirono's been having a 30% lead in all the preliminary polls. But even if Lingle upsets her, she's still rather moderate for a Republican.

Tulsi Gabbard and Kawika Crowley is a shoo-in; even my mom who's a staunch Republican voted for Gabbard. Don't know as much Hanabusa and Djou since they're not my district, but Hanabusa's the Democrat incumbent so I'm pretty sure things are in her favor. All in all, it looks like three more women are going to congress. :D

TBH though, I'm the most curious about our mayor race (Caldwell vs Cayetano). We've got this commuter rail project that's been going back and forth since the 60's. We've finally got $1.58 billion federal support and started the groundbreaking, but there's still a lot of polarizing opinion. If Cayetano gets elected, he says he's going to do whatever he can to stop the rail, and personally I'm for it so I'm crossing my fingers. It's a lot of money and I do get some of the objections, but we really need to start laying the foundation for more forms of mass transit. We're about the size of the DC/New York areas and yet we've got no kind of subway/rail system to speak of.
