I'm in Maricopa, so that's pretty much the boil on the butt that is AZ politics, but I'm hoping maybe the rest of the state will manage to get Carmona in over Flake. I'd also love to see Arpaio gone, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

Same! Depending on the legislative district you're in, it could look a little better. My district is a bit more blue. I think Carmona has a good chance of winning.

These are my thoughts, also living in Maricopa. I was really disappointed in my early ballot -- there were so many partisan sections that only had a single Republican running and no write-ins registered. After researching all the people, I ended up leaving many sections blank. :\

In those situations, I vote Benjamina ficus.

I'm in Maricopa too. I have a bit of hope about defeating Arpaio, because literally every person that I know, whether Republican or Democrat, absolutely hates him.

I'm a former Maricopa County voter. I lost my voter virginity there when I was 18 and cast a proud ballot for Al Gore.

I remember crying myself to sleep back in November of 2000 and my mom woke me up the morning after the election and I was all depressed because I went to sleep thinking Bush had won. And then she was like, "Well, actually, they're doing a recount." Then my hopes got up and were crushed again. ):

And, yet, he's still in office... don't pretend to know what it is, but there's GOT to be something shady going on with that.

Funnily enough, everyone I work with here in AZ is fairly liberal except for *dun dun dun* the two guys over 50.

lol How sad is it that I think I know the one?

*Former Arizonan*

I lived in Scottsdale/Tucson for 20 years.

My parents are out in Scottsdale. I'm hoping that they will be celebrating my birthday at the Inaugural Ball in DC on the 20th of January. They're both staunch Obama supporters. My dad went to the Democratic Convention in NC as an elected delegate. I'm so proud of both of them. They've really helped the Democratic party (at least in Maricopa county).

Is Penzone (sp?) winning over sheriff Joe?
