This is one where I'll buy the malfunctioning argument over a conspiracy theory- you'd have to be an idiot to use that as an attempt to doctor it, and also an idiot not to notice it in the moment.

Still disturbing though.

I voted a little bit ago and I didn't vote straight ticket and made sure to vote for Obama specifically. There was no line what so ever. So nice!

either way hopefully it as caught before too many votes were mis-counted. Well, or before ANY votes were miscounted, but I don't really have that kind of faith in machines.

I was seriously shocked when I learned some of the machines don't do printouts. Ours (I was an election judge in IL) print out where the voters themselves could look and verify their choices on paper plus we printed out a bunch for the election commission, to go on the polling place's door etc.

If there's one machine, there'll be others. And what happens to the people who have already voted on faulty machines like this? Are their votes thrown out? This is worrisome.

Yeah, that's my major concern. Is there any way to get a hold of these people and fix their votes if needed? What IS the procedure for dealing with these votes in the case of glitches like this? I can't find information anywhere. ARGH, this is why I like IN's pen and paper voting, jfc.

Same here, though it's not that I hate Texas's electronic voting machines, I just wish the damn things had some sort of paper trail, like a printout of exactly who you voted for, the time/location/whatever of the polling station, etc.

My friend told me there was a machine in Las Vegas changing votes the other way (for Obama)... We got into a little discussion and basically I think we had to agree to disagree that things were possibly a bit...suspicious. Altho she did agree with me that when there are international observers being sent in to monitor things, that the situation is seriously fucked up.
