Jon Stewart rants about 'Romney campaign headquarters,' aka Fox News

Sep 20, 2012 23:40

If the Mitt Romney campaign hoped the leaked video of his ill-considered remarks at a May fundraiser would be a one-night story … well, it was mistaken. But Fox News came away with as many woes as the candidate when Jon Stewart was done with his “Daily Show” monologue Wednesday night.

Legit made me stand up and applaud last night... )

I don't even know what the Romney campaign is trying to accomplish with that video of then State Senator Barack Obama. "OH NOES HE'S TALKING ABOUT REDISTRIBUTING WEALTH OH NOES!!!!!!!"

Slightly tangential, but did anyone watch Ted Koppel's segment on Rock Center tonight?

someone brought up on facebook that it's stupid to bring up videos of president obama from 14 years ago, because if we go back 14 years in MITTEN'S history, we would see him talking about being pro-choice, pro-ban on assault weapons, pro-alternative energy, etc, and god forbid we remember when he was basically a liberal!

Sadly, some people are listening. My mother brought this up to me last night on the phone and I had to end the conversation to salvage our relationship. I don't understand why she thinks that's a bad thing, considering our family was always part of that lower middle class that Romney grouped into the "losers" category. But she's still part of that "socialism bad!" generation.

personally speaking, i wouldn't let my mother off -or anyone else i care about- to believe such fictitious things. Even if it causes an argument! And this has happened...

I have to pick my battles. It's very difficult to convince someone with facts when their whole argument is based on emotion and whatever their pastor is telling them in church. It's like beating your head against a brick wall and much less fun.

Oh...if the church is involved...Okay. Oh man...my regards to you for your efforts (and everybody else, too).

it has always struck me as strange/perverse how a great part of america is so christian, yet so adverse to socialism! Total mash-up.

Yeah, it's very sad how they completely ignore so much of Christ's actual teachings, especially in regards to the poor. I try to slowly work on my family when it comes to social issues, but sometimes it's just a losing battle and I have to retreat for my sanity.
