Some nice things people said about the concert!

"Muse came through with a stellar set of hits combined with nimble workouts on classic rock greats, and even a few Muse-efied snippets of Rage Against the Machine songs. Muse’s lead singer Matthew Bellamy is a well-documented fan of Rage Against the Machine and no doubt, Muse’s presence here is because of both bands’ mutual respect for each other. Bellamy, bassist Christopher Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard began with the first piece of their Exogenesis suite, “Exogenesis: Symphony Part I (Overture).” The song’s delicate yet triumphant bombast set the stage for much of the band’s epic sound." "If you’ve never seen Muse and you are fan of well-constructed riffs, drumming that will rip your soul out of your body, and poetic lyrics belted with poignancy, go see them. And if you’re not a fan of those things, we’re not sure why you even listen to music." Read more here at Kroq!

"But the energy was not lost. Almost simultaneously, as the sun went down, Muse rose from the dark while the audience roared. Not only was Muse’s performance recognizable with each song a hit, the smoke and laser show enticed the senses and evoked the drama." Read more here at OC Reloaded

"The other main act, Muse, delivered a stirring 90-minute set. Featuring the band's mesmerizing lighting -- which looked very much out of the Pink Floyd guide to how to put on a great rock show -- the Brits managed not only keep the crowd's focus, but likely won many new admirers." The LA Times were mean to them so fuck you. go write mean things at their review page since they called muse "a cliche" and "grooveless" and said that Lauryn Hill killed it (which is a damn lie, the only thing she killed was the vibe and the sound system)

And a bit of my experience:
- the traffic around the area was TERRIBLE. I drove 6+ hrs (3 to there, 3 back home) even though I live 45 mins from LA >_>
- I was in the seating area (section 18 were very kind and fun!) so I got a nice view not only of the stage but of the crazy GA section
- But seriously, GA were insane. There were several moshpits (including for Muse!), fires, breakage of barriers, and security guards holding down crazy people. The GA section was split into 3 parts so section 3 was pretty angry.
- They were also audio problems (particularly with Lauryn Hill's set and RATM's first song) but Muse only had a bit of issues in a song.
- IT WAS HUGE. Apparently there were about 50k-60k people at the stadium!
- It was the best. Rise Agaisnt were awesome, and Rage was epic. It was ridiculous. IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT.
