On His Association With The Fantastic Four Franchise And What He Makes Of The New Wave Of Comic Book Movies:

I'm thrilled. I was reading an article last night about Thor's unbelievable opening for Marvel. It overtook X-Men and Fantastic Four - like twice as much globally on opening weekend as Fantastic Four and X-Men did over the entire run. It's a bit sad. It's bittersweet. They had plans to make a third movie but I guess because it's a business model - and it is a business that these guys run - they look at the margins and everything, and they'd rather plough in a lot more money to make something which is more appealing to the teenage market - the big market. Things like Iron Man, X-Men, The Wolverine - they'd rather spend the money upfront to make these movies rather than investing in our movie, which is based specifically for a family audience. The profits are so much greater.

On The Rumored Reboot And What It Might Mean For The Franchise:

I'm trying to put my finger on what happened. It seems to me, that Marvel as a studio are now making their own stuff and having great success with it. I think two of the franchises, Fantastic Four is owned by Fox and Spiderman by Sony - so that's why Sony, I guess - are trying to get as much bang for their buck [by rebooting], because they still have the franchise. I suppose the same idea that Fox had with ours and the possibility of appealing to an older audience, maybe they wanted to rebrand, repackage and make it darker than it was originally. Originally it was a much lighter version.

On What He Thinks About Chris Evans Being Cast As Captain America:

It's interesting because living as an actor now, because there isn't an abundance of movies being made, the only movies that are being made and that I would be available for are these comic books. Because I'm established as one character, I don't think I'd be considered. I'm sure they really found it hard to cast Chris because of his association. But when you look around the market at the time, he was probably the best man for the job. On that note, I was fascinated by the fact that they killed off Johnny Storm in the comic book itself recently. My brain started to think in terms of, because of The Avengers series, maybe that opens the door for them to bring the three of us back! Who knows?
