Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield has affirmed his desire to star in the next Avengersmovie.
The actor makes his debut as Peter Parker in the forthcoming The Amazing Spider-Man, but he has now revealed that it "killed him" not to be a part of Marvel's superhero mash-up.
Garfield told
Vulture: "I saw it, and I was blown away. And I'm going to see it again this weekend. I have no problem adding to the amount of money it’s making!"
Spider-Man could potentially appear in anAvengers sequel since he exists in the Marvel universe, although Marvel do not currently hold the movie rights to the character.
Garfield added: "Joss Whedon is a genius, and it's an incredible cast. I was very, very jealous, and I wanted to jump on the screen and play with them. It killed me that I wasn't in it, but I understand why and I wasn't insulted. But hey, if Samuel L Jackson wants to give me a shout, I'm there for the next one."
A sequel to The Avengers was officially confirmed this month, although Whedon has said that he is undecided about returning.
