Kevin Feige Talks Avengers Sequels And Other Marvel Projects

With Avengers Assemble/ The Avengers fever in full swing (Including our full-marks review), producer Kevin Feige and new face of The Incredible Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, were in London's Regent Streer Apple store on Friday to take questions from fans.

We headed along to see what the pair had to say, and have collected the highlights below.


On the status of Ant-Man

“With Ant-man, I know Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish have written a very good draft, they’ve been working on it for many years now, and have made a couple of other great movies since then. I think this summer we’ll see some forward momentum with that.”

On the potential development of Luke Cage or Black Panther films

“We have a draft on Luke Cage that we’ve had for many years, and a draft more recently on Black Panther, I’d love to bring them both to the screen, it’s just a matter of when.”

On the proposed Hulk standalone movie

“In between all the red carpets, Me and Mark have been talking about just what is a standalone Hulk movie going to be, and how we take all goodwill and this forward momentum from the avengers into a Hulk movie. When that’ll be, who knows, but the conversations have definitely started.”

Ruffalo added “’I’m gonna try and get Joss Whedon in a room and work out what could be a Hulk movie, with Kevin’s blessing of course”

Could we see the Avengers' Civil War story? Perhaps in Avengers 3?

“Civil war was a great crossover story, with the superhero registration act where the government want to force them to reveal their secret identities. Iron Man thinks it’s a good idea, Captain America disagrees, so that leads to a sort of civil war. I certainly don’t think we’ll see that before Avengers 3, so maybe that’ll be a good number for it, who knows.”

What do Marvel have in mind for us, in terms of future Avengers films.

“Discussions are beginning. The idea is to replicate that experience of the comics, so we’ve got these individual solo titles, then the crossovers every few years,I would love to replicate that every three or four years. [Asked about introducing new members to the team in future films]This is definitely the foundation, but I think part of the fun of an Avengers series is to introduce more.”
