Marvel To Release Dexter Comics

Marvel have announced plans to turn Dexter into a comic book series.

Joe Quesada announced at the recent New York Comic Con that the company will launch an ongoing series based on the Dexterbooks from 2012.

Jeff Lindsay, who wrote the original novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, as well as its sequels, will pen the series, with an artist yet to be announced.

Darkly Dreaming Dexter tells the story of the serial killer vigilante who works as a blood splatter expert, and was developed for television in 2006.

The show is now into its sixth season, but has veered away from the novels.

There are five additional Dexter books in the series, with the latest entry, Double Dexter, arriving in book stores this week (Oct 17).

The Marvel series will tie in with the novels.
