OMG how can there be more than one vote since I just refreshed for this entry to come up because I am sooooo bored and suffering from a case of the lonelies that I have just been staring at ontd_lost purposelessly.

I don't know how anyone can argue the producers weren't making this up as they went along. I think by "we know the ending" they meant they knew the last shot with Jack's eye, but not the journey they were going to take getting there. I mean, even little details like the outrigger how Damon said they had a plan for who it was, but they couldn't fit it organically into the story. Huh? If you had a plan, wouldn't it automatically organically fit into the narrative? As my fiance once said, the only thing organic going on in that explanation is the amount of bull shit being used.

For Jacob, I liked him when he was the invisible man. Kind of how I liked the monster just being this THING. I think when there is no tangible body behind such concepts the stuff your imagination makes up is so much better.

I remember thinking how angry I would be if I found out they were making this all up as they went along but I'm surprisingly okay with it now. I appreciated that they knew where they wanted to go but now how they wanted to get there. The journey's a beautiful thing.

Voted for superhuman Jacob and along for the ride, didn't vote on the first one. Although the island light annoyed me somewhat.

I don't think I mind them changing plans along the way- if they never experimented, we never would have had Emerson as Ben. I just wish they wouldn't so vehemently argue they always always always had this exact plan, omg. What's the big deal about going, "We were going here, but this path came up and we chose it instead" - I think that's what makes me insane! It's ok to say your story was an evolving organic one.

I put science on the first one, though I was ok with some mystic elements. I liked it when it was a bit of both, honestly.

Heh heh, probably because there were so many haters by mid-show that if they'd openly said they were making it up as they went along people would have ripped them a new one.

I didn't see the "Other" option for Jacob actually. Now that I think about it I like superhuman Jacob but I would have liked it even more if he'd gotten some answers out of Mother before Smokey killed her :-/ Like everyone else really. I wouldn't even have minded if he'd somehow had to become a little less superhuman in the process. His arbitrary rules didn't amount to much in the end.

BTW, I love how Ben and the bunny had that little con act planned out to get to Sawyer. GO DYNAMIC DUO. I'm still depressed he didn't find his BBFF (bunny BFF) in season six. I hope Hurley gets him a new one.

Alex went Fatal Attraction on Bunry's ass.
I will never forgive her.

THAT WAS A WILD BUNNY, NOT THE BUNNY.

I really did like that scene. Ben looks so gutted (PUN) when Alex says whatever she does there and the little rabbit she's pulling apart. You know Ben felt like that dead bunny, but was just too emotionally challenged to actually say anything to Alex to make the situation better.

1. Science - magic gave us Across The Sea. Fuck that. Thinking there might be a crazy bunch of sinister scientists terrorising the losties in S2 was SO exciting. This is why I love watching Maternity Leave ( ... )

What the flying shit to your number 4 are you serious? How could it not FIT. If this show was really "all about the characters" that character should have had that scene. That makes me SO ANGRY. He was the only character who didn't remember via a positive human interaction, which was the THEME of the alt. Not to mention the audience having to miss out on watching that particular actor remember all of Ben's life as Dr. Linus.

Totally agree with all your thoughts on Jack.

You know how I feel about Annie.

Yup, it's ridiculous. There's a whole bunch of continuity errors in the finale. Like why Ana Lucia isn't ~ready~ yet but in S5 she looked pretty comfortable as a ghost and even said LIBBY SAYS HI. Jack got the knife nick on his neck (lol) from the fight with Flocke, so why didn't he have a stab wound, too? Going by the thought that your injuries leak into your purgatory - why didn't Kate have a gun shot wound in her shoulder?

Why wasn't Vincent there? Dogs don't live anywhere near as long as humans and Darlton could've easily had an amazing remembering scene between Vincent and Walt.

If Ben's ~memory~ can be sort of triggered by Desmond, who isn't his destiny or soulmate in any way, why weren't the others slightly triggered by other familiar people, too?

Sun and Jin died way before Des, so why did Des remember before them?

AAAAAAAAAAAAH.

I hate that legitimately their only explanation for that is saying the sideways is just their imaginations put together - it's a place without rules other than their subconscious. It's cheap and it's bad writing to cover up for bad writing.

I don't feel I wasted my time, theorizing was always the best part of Lost for me, and the kick I got out of it doesn't vanish just because we got fucked over.

Exactly what I came here to say!

1. I picked magic...now this doesn't mean I was down with the magic vagina glitter cave. I mean magic more in the sense of the Island is magical~~ Hey Locke was paralyzed and couldn't walk, now he is out hunting, hey Rose was sick and now she isn't...I really enjoyed that kind of magic. It would have been interesting to know why but honestly I would have just accepted that the Island was a special place.
Glittery cave=too much magic
Locke raising his arms in the rain because he is healed=perfect amount of magic

2. I picked other, I liked it when Jacob was an unknown entity. Was he a man, was he a ghost, was he Vincent, was he the Smoke Monster. I liked Jacob so much more before we really knew who he was (which was a herp derp)

3. I do feel I ~wasted my time~ I had fun doing it but man so many hours and hours spent discussing polar bear theories and the numbers and such, when in the end they were all just tossed out the window.

4. YES there is just nothing else to say on that one
