it's my favorite show, but that statement is too much, even for a person like me who doesn't think novels should be considered the superior form of storytelling in our culture that everything else (movies, video games, comics, etc) should be compared to. Structure-wise, it's like a serial novel, but that's about it..

Yeah, I agree: I don't think novels should be the gold standard for quality. And I think there are times when Lost is among the best shows currently on television. But then other times...lol, Lost is cheesy, dorky, fanservicey pulp.

yeah. And I'm not saying pulp is the nadir either; it can get at emotions and situations that high quality stuff can rarely convey, a rawness or something
