Hey everyone! It's time for your regular Wednesday speculation post!
Part One: All right, let's start with everything from the trailers, Bryan's Tumblr, and the interactive game we haven't seen in the show yet. Oh, and the next episode is called "When Extremes Meet," if you hadn't already heard.
Korra firebending in an unknown location. Apparently Sifu Kisu took some photos around the studio, and one of the displays had this scene with a bunch of storyboards around it. If anyone has a link to anything we haven't seen before, I'd appreciate it!

A line test of Korra sparring against Mako and Bolin. It's been pointed out that this might just be a test to get a feel for the animation, and not something we'll see in the show, but I'm including it for the sake of completeness.

It's been going around the fandom that Seychelle Gabriel mentioned recording for season two on her Twitter; I did some investigation, and all I could find was this tweet from back in March, which discusses her doing some voice work for Korra, but not specifying the season. I know the oofs and grunts are recorded pretty late in the production process, so I think Seychelle's tweet might be referring to that or to Book Two.
On the other hand, Dante Basco has confirmed that his character, unknown to us as of yet, is returning for Book Two.
And while it's not really something we haven't seen before, this is official art by Studio Mir, which does the animation for LOK in Korea. Maybe it can tell us something about character dynamics by the end of show. I'm paying particular attention to Asami, Bolin and Ikki, and Lin. And Korra and Mako undressing each other with their eyes, because damn.
Part Two: General speculation
So in the next episode, everyone's living on Air Temple Island! Apart from wacky shenanigans with the airbending kids (all I want from life basically), what do you think we can expect from this arrangement?
- We still don't know what Korra's flashbacks are about or what's causing them. So what exactly did happen with Yakone 42 years ago, and how does this relate to Korra's situation with Amon now?
- When will we get to see Aang as Korra's spirit guide? Considering her lack of spirituality, how will she make the connection in the first place?
- Airbending airbending airbending. This Book is kind of called "Air," so I strongly suspect we will see Korra learning to bend it soon, but when? And what will trigger her breakthrough?
- What about Avatar State!Korra?
- How is Amon taking people's bending away, and is it reversible? What is his big plan, and how does he intend to "destroy" Korra?
- Lin is going renegade! Will Tarrlok take the reins as police chief after her resignation? Just what is his deal, anyway? And what will Lin be doing now as a vigilante that she couldn't do when she was heading up the police force?
- Here is a very brief interview with Janet Varney mostly discussing what we can expect from Asami now that she's living on the Island. How do you think we'll see Asami dealing with her decision? What about her relationship with Mako? Her friendship (for lack of a better word) with Korra?
- Speaking of Asami, do you think we still have reason to suspect her?
- What about Hiroshi? Does Republic City know that its version of Henry Ford is an Equalist? How will those platinum mechas come into play?
- What about the bending triads? Have we seen the last of them?
- On the shipping front, where do you see the Korra/Mako/Asami triangle going? Do you think Bolin has gotten over his crush on Korra?
- How do you see the Krew's friendship developing now that they're all living in the same place?
- When will Pema's baby be born? Will it be a boy or a girl? A bender or a non-bender?
